This Privacy Policy explains how HabitPet ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Grownictech, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application ("HabitPet" or the "App"). By using HabitPet, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up we collect your email address and any identifier provided by Sign in with Apple. You can change or delete this information at any time from the in-app Profile screen.
Habit and pet data
We store the habits you create, the times you mark them as complete, your streaks, and information related to your virtual pet (type, name, level, XP, mood, accessories, and customizations). This data is required for the App to function.
Health data (optional)
With your explicit permission, HabitPet can read health metrics from Apple HealthKit (steps, exercise minutes, water intake, sleep) to auto-complete related habits. Health data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable a feature that requires it. We do not sell or share health data with third parties.
AI chat content
If you chat with your virtual pet, your messages are sent to Google Gemini through a secure server-side proxy in order to generate a reply. We do not use your conversations to train AI models. Messages may be stored to provide chat history within the App.
Subscription data
Purchases are processed by Apple and managed by RevenueCat on our behalf. We receive your subscription status, plan, renewal date, and an anonymous customer identifier. We never receive your full payment details (card number, billing address, etc.).
Push notification tokens
If you enable reminders, we store an opaque push token so we can send you the notifications you scheduled.
Device and diagnostic information
We may collect basic diagnostic information (device model, operating system version, app version, crash reports) to debug issues. This data is aggregated and not used to identify individual users.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and personalize the App experience.
- To sync your data across devices.
- To send the reminders you scheduled.
- To generate AI messages from your virtual pet.
- To process and verify your subscription.
- To diagnose crashes and improve stability.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or third-party profiling.
3. Third-party services we use
HabitPet relies on the following third-party providers, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and storage. Hosted in the United States. supabase.com/privacy
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, push notifications, HealthKit, in-app purchases. apple.com/legal/privacy
- RevenueCat — subscription management. revenuecat.com/privacy
- Google Gemini— AI-generated messages for your virtual pet. Requests are proxied server-side and are not used to train Google's models. policies.google.com/privacy
4. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from the in-app Profile screen, we permanently remove your habits, completions, pets, AI chat history, and account record within 30 days. Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained for analytics.
5. Your rights
You can exercise the following rights at any time from inside the App or by contacting us:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct — update or correct your account information.
- Delete — permanently delete your account and all associated data via Profile → Delete account.
- Export — download your habit data in CSV format (available to Pro subscribers).
- Opt-out of notifications— disable reminders from the in-app Settings or your device's notification preferences.
- Revoke HealthKit access— at any time from iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → HabitPet.
6. Security
All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. We enforce row-level security policies on our database so users can only access their own data. We never store sensitive payment details on our infrastructure — Apple handles all purchase processing.
7. Children's privacy
HabitPet is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Your data may be processed and stored on servers located in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App you consent to this transfer. We rely on the standard contractual clauses and other safeguards provided by these vendors.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you inside the App or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
